agency:collective directs the global Rainbow Six Vegas 2 commercial for Ubisoft, premiering during March Madness 2008. CG characters, design, and live action seamlessly integrate to create a stylized and visual rush through the streets of Sin City. Intricately choreographed shots allowed the team of 3D compositors and animators to create environments strewn with patterns of playing cards, taking the audience through a seductive Vegas aesthetic. a:c is one of the first design studios to execute match-move composites using the Red Camera. This spot is sure to kick up the adrenaline.
This is the final storyboard that was used as reference for shooting the live action soldiers and Vegas girls, as well as the CG scenes. Notice the details in the muzzle flashes. They are comprised of card elements, including diamonds, hearts, and spades.
The storyboard that won the pitch. Compared to the actual produced board and spot, some of the major scenes here had to be removed in editorial—there was no way to pack that much action into a thirty second spot
This was the second direction we pitched to Ubisoft to win. Darker and more photographic, Snake Eyes was a beautiful medley of scale and typography.
Photos of the prelight, costume fitting, and actual shooting day. Don’t miss the movable muzzle flash simulator, beautifully lit Vegas girl feathers, and us pretending we’re assassins—all in a day’s work.
